THE DINA HUMANITARIAN FOUNDATION
In Loving Remembrance of
Dr. Phil A. Higginbottom
WHAT DO WE DO?
1
''Dr. Phil Forever'' Boat
After Dr. Phil's funeral, a large pool of incredibly generous donors funded the purchase of a 16' Fiberglass, V hull boat for our beloved Malakati Village.
Not long ago on a rainy day, 4 children were crushed to death from a dislodged boulder while they were on their long walk to school.
Now the Dr. Phil Forever Boat transports them daily with life jackets on!
The government recognizes the Dr. Phil Forever boat as an official transport vessel, thus providing the local village with a monthly stipend!
Boats are a mandatory form of transportation to the villages in Fiji. Whether used as a "school bus", for sustainable fishing, or for the use of emergencies, as the only hospital is on the main island.

ART & ROBBIE EDUCATION FUND
The Dina Humanitarian Foundation is currently supplying school materials and backpacks for all the primary school children in the village, approximately 65 students. With funds permitting, it is our wish to pay the tuition for promising scholar enabling them to travel to the main land (5 hr. boat ride away) for their high school studies. This Educational Fund is named in honor of the late Dr. Philip Higginbottom’s parents: Art and Robbie Higginbottom.

''The Dina Store''
This store was opened and originally stocked by Phil and Terry in the village of Malakati. A hugely exciting feature to the 250 villagers, as previously, they had to take small boats to nearby island to replenish their staples and hygienic items...or they went without. The Dina Store is maintained and re-stocked by the village "Korosomo Women's Club". For many years now the store has been maintaining its integrity, thus using their profits for the betterment of the whole community. The Dina Store is creating jobs and practical life skills, while suppling villagers with basic necessities that are so hard to come by in the far reaching Northwest division of Fiji, called The Yasawa Islands.

MEDICAL AIDE
Continuous medical supplies, medicine and aide is provided to those in The Yasawa Islands villages and health centers.
3
the Doc Holladay project
In honor of Terry's late father-Doc Holladay, this humanitarian project focuses on the dental needs of the village children. Teaching the youngsters constructive dental hygiene, providing tooth brushes, toothpaste and dental floss, free of charge to all, at The Dina Store. If emergency dental assistance is needed, which is only available at the mainland, (5 hr. boat ride away) and if funds permitting, transport and dentist fees are funded by The Dina Humanitarian Foundation.

LuLu's Heart Project
Through-out the year, Terry collects musical instruments for the villages, churches and the local primary school, Ratu Mili!
Please think about calling Dina to donate you usable musical instruments.
